A town built by sea captains

In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries Galaxidi was one of the most important sailing ports in Greece. Its shipowners and captains traded across the Mediterranean, and the money they brought home built the town you walk through today.

Reading the houses

The captains houses are the reason Galaxidi looks the way it does: tall, stone-built, symmetrical, with carved doorways and shuttered windows. They were built to show what their owners had earned at sea.

Our own building keeps those proportions. The rooms have been newly renovated, but the shape of the house is the one the town has always had.

Where to look from

The best view of the roofline is from above it. Every one of our rooms has its own balcony over the old town, and breakfast can be carried up to it.
